The Deer Park is one of the favourite activities among our younger visitors and families enjoying a day out at Rathwood.
Rathwood is home to the Sika species of deer.

Sika Deer

Sika deer are a species of deer native to East Asia. They have been introduced to other parts of the world, including North America and Europe. Sika deer are smaller than most other deer species, with a distinctive coat that is usually reddish-brown in colour. They are also known for their high-pitched whistling call, which they use to communicate with each other. Like fallow deer, they are herbivores and feed on a variety of vegetation.

Visitors to Rathwood may purchase deer food at reception.
