Join Éanna Ní Lamhna, one of Ireland’s most beloved environmentalists, for a captivating walk through the woodlands of Rathwood, as part of this year’s Carlow Garden Festival. Set within 170 acres of peaceful forest and trails, Rathwood is home to an extraordinary range of native flora and fauna, offering the perfect setting for a guided journey into the heart of Ireland’s biodiversity.

As you explore the paths of Fox’s Park, Éanna will share her expert knowledge of the forest’s ecology and geology, highlighting the rich habitats that support everything from deer and rabbits to foxes, mink, pheasants, and dragonflies. Walk beneath the canopy of ancient beech, oak, birch, and Douglas fir, and learn all about the importance of trees in our everyday lives.

Why not put the family to the test and try out Rathwood's Maze of Ireland! This maze is planted in the shape of Ireland with every county built to scale. Each person will be given a map of Ireland and a pencil to fill out each county, there is a special number to find in each one. You can work together or have some fun and bring out your families competitive side to see who can complete the Maze first!
