Cinderella Tea Party was perfect

A LittleLonderer.com visited Rathwood and here is her review

Yesterday we ventured off to the Carlow/Wicklow border, a short 35 minute drive from Kilkenny to the beautiful Rathwood Home and Garden World. We had been invited to Rathwood to experience their Cinderella Tea Party.

Rathwood have being hosting children's events for many years and there's an adventure for children of all ages and adults alike. The popular Rathwood events are filled with fun and entertainment for all the family to enjoy all year round, with the seasonal holiday events being very poplular on board the Rathwood Express Train. Experience the magic of Christmas, the spooky fun of Halloween (we did this last year, both kids loved picking their own pumpkin and carving it afterwards), or"egg"citing Easter adventure (next on our list, who doesn't love an Easter egg hunt). In the summer period they host a Teddy Bear's Picnic and I think it's something that needs to be added to the bucket list of "things to do" this coming summer. What child wouldn't love to join Goldilocks and the three bears for a day.

The Cinderella Tea Party was perfect, starting out with the Fairy Godmother who told us the story about Cinderella. Each child painted their own "glass slipper" which was a money box, and while they dried we went on the hunt (on the Rathwood Express) for Prince Charming, the kids had a great giggle trying to wake up the sleeping prince who was clutching clCinderellas sparkling shoe. We all boarded the train again to help Prince Charming find Cinderella and see "if the shoe fits". Once we had Cinderella on board with us, we ventured back indoors for our area Party, with Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Fairygodmother. Cinderella moved around to each table, having a quick chat with the children and then there was an opportunity to take pictures with the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella and Prince Charming.

Afternoon Tea comprised of sandwiches, tea cakes, rocky road and hot chocolate. The events are short, 45-60 mins, which I think is perfect for young children, they loose interest after this time. Tickets for the events are priced at €12 per child €4 per adult.

As well as the children's events, there is also an animal park, forest walks, and a children’s play ground are some of the exciting and different activities that visitors can avail of when they visit Rathwood. In 2014 Rathwood opened their newest attraction – The Maze of Ireland. The maze consists of 2500 beech hedging woven together in the shape of Ireland and covers 1.2 acres. It's a garden Centre you could spend the whole day at. The Restaurant at Rathwood serves every taste. Their ethos is to champion local food producers by using the finest quality ingredients sourced from within Leinster, to create wholesome and tasty dishes….think Avoca like salads and a trip to the bakery counter can't be missed…giant slices of cake, my favourite is the Lemon and Lime.
