Nothing else introduces the fresh, evergreen Christmas smell like a real Christmas tree. At Rathwood, we carefully select the finest grade Christmas trees which are locally sourced from the Wicklow mountains and freshly delivered to you. We would always recommend to purchase trees around the first week in December so that they can last up until the end of the festive season.

Once this tree arrives in your home we would recommend keeping it far away from heat sources such as fireplaces or heaters as it can make the tree dry out fast and in some cases die quicker. The location you place the tree in should also be near aa power source as this will be beneficial for when you are placing lights on the tree.  Christmas trees always look better when they are placed in corners of certain areas as it allows you to select what side of the tree you want to display to your guests.

These trees are checked to make sure they are the best quality before they are delivered to your doorstep. This is done by checking the branches to see if the needles fall as a healthy tree will not having falling needles. The needles will also be fresh and sturdy. Another way to check the freshness of a tree is to bend a needle between your thumb and forefinger and this should make the shape of a ‘u’ without snapping.

When bringing the tree into your home, it is important to do this as safely as possible. We would always recommend that two people put up the tree as it is the safest way to assemble it as one person can secure the base while the other person keeps the tree up.
